Kuari Pass Trek

A Winter Dream: Kuari Pass Trek. Aah… my first winter trek!
The cold air, the thought of walking on snow, and the possibility of experiencing snowfall for the first time—this trek was already special before it even started. And to top it all off, it was my birthday month! January was about to become unforgettable. Hoping for the best and craving an experience I had never had before, I booked the Kuari Pass Trek in Uttarakhand. As usual, I went with Indiahikes—my go-to trekking organization. If you’ve read my previous trek stories, you already know why I choose them every time. Their sustainable trekking practices, love for the mountains, and responsible travel philosophy resonate deeply with me. If you’re planning a trek, do check out their website!

A Day Before the Trek—Rest & Recharge in Rishikesh

I arrived in Rishikesh a day before the trek to relax and get a good night’s sleep before the long journey to the basecamp. And where else would I stay other than Live Free Hostel? If you know, you know! This hostel in Tapovan is my favorite—affordable, lively, and perfectly located.

The night passed quickly, and before I knew it, my wake-up alarm buzzed at 4 AM. It was time. The adventure was about to begin!

The Road Journey: Rishikesh to Karchi Basecamp

At 5 AM sharp, our tempo traveler was ready to take us to our basecamp, Karchi. The cold air made me shiver, but the excitement kept me warm. Wrapped in my cozy layers, I hopped onto the traveler, greeted my fellow trekkers, and settled in for a long 8-hour road journey through the stunning landscapes of Uttarakhand.

As the first rays of the sun hit the mountains, the views outside started changing—serene rivers, misty valleys, and charming hill towns passed by one after another.

The Sacred Confluences: Panch Prayag

One of the most beautiful aspects of this journey was witnessing the five sacred river confluences (Panch Prayag) of Uttarakhand. These are the places where different rivers meet and form the mighty Ganga.

Devprayag – This was our first stop. The sight of the emerald-green Alaknanda merging with the turquoise Bhagirathi to form the Ganga was surreal. It was one of those places where you just stand in silence, absorbing the beauty.
Rudraprayag
Rudraprayag – The meeting point of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, surrounded by mythological significance.

Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag, and Vishnuprayag – More beautiful river confluences, each carrying centuries of legends.

Dhari Devi Temple—A Goddess Who Changes Forms

Next, we visited the Dhari Devi Temple, a mystical shrine of Goddess Kali, perched on the banks of the Alaknanda River. The legend says the idol of the goddess changes its form—from a young girl in the morning to a woman by noon and an old lady by evening. Goosebumps!

Breakfast Stop—Sun, River & A Warm Meal

Somewhere along the way, we stopped for breakfast at a beautiful roadside eatery. A river flowed right beside us, the sun shone warmly on our faces, and the aroma of steaming parathas and chai filled the air. Could there be a better way to start the day?

Reaching Karchi Basecamp—Welcome to Snowy Wonderland

After what felt like an eternity of zig-zag mountain roads, we finally reached Karchi Basecamp in the late afternoon. And oh, what a welcome it was! The snow-covered peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas stood tall, basking in the golden sunset. The air was crisp, the temperature was already below zero, and the excitement among the trekkers was contagious.
This trek is special in the Himalayas because it offers incredible panoramic views of iconic peaks like:
  • Mt. Dronagiri (7,066m) – This giant was our constant companion throughout the trek. (Insert details about Dronagiri’s legend & significance)
  • Mt. Nanda Devi (7,816m) – The second highest peak in India, and a sacred goddess mountain. (Insert interesting fact about Nanda Devi)
  • Hathi Ghoda Peaks – Two peaks that literally look like an elephant and a horse standing side by side!
Kuari Pass is also known as “Lord Curzon’s Trail”, named after the British viceroy Lord Curzon, who explored this route in 1905. (Insert why this trek was historically significant) Before anything else, we witnessed our first alpine glow—the golden-pink hue of the setting sun on the white peaks. I stood there, watching Mt. Dronagiri slowly turn shades of orange, pink, and purple. It was surreal.

We then had a campsite tour, where we picked our beds in the dormitory-style stay. Next came the mandatory medical and identity check, where we met our trek leader and guides—warm, cheerful, and full of trekking wisdom.

Preparing for the Cold – Rentals, Briefings & First Night at Basecamp

The temperature had already dropped below 0°C, and the night had just begun. Layering up was key, and I was glad I had rented most of my gear instead of buying it—a great sustainable way to trek!

We then had our first trek briefing, where we learned about the trek’s difficulty, route, weather conditions, and the significance of the trail (also called Lord Curzon’s Trail, named after a British Viceroy who first explored it).

Dinner was hot, comforting, and much-needed, but washing utensils in freezing temperatures? A whole new struggle! The water was so cold that my fingers went numb the moment I touched it. But hey, that’s the fun of trekking, right?

Trek Briefing & Preparing for the Cold Night

Huddled in the dining tent, we had a warm, comforting meal before our trek briefing session.
  • Our trek leader and guides explained the entire Kuari Pass route, the challenges ahead, and the weather conditions.
  • We learned how to pack our backpacks efficiently for the cold. (Pro tip: Roll your clothes instead of folding them to save space!)
  • We also got safety instructions on walking on snow and ice, as the trails ahead were expected to be slippery and steep.
After the briefing, I stepped outside for a moment—and BOOM! The night sky was glittering with a million stars.

This was just Day 1, and I already felt deeply connected to the mountains. Tomorrow, we start trekking into the white wonderland.

Waking Up to a Frozen World & Trekking to Akhrotgetta

The temperature had dropped drastically overnight, and waking up in the morning felt like a battle against the cold. Every water source was frozen—our drinking water, the taps, even the leftover water in our bottles had turned into solid ice. Washing our faces? Forget it. A splash of icy water felt like a shock to the system! Somehow, with frozen fingers and sleepy eyes, we managed to get ourselves ready for the trek.

Morning Warm-up & Trek Prep

Before starting, we gathered in a circle for warm-up exercises to get the blood flowing. Our trek leader made it fun by adding a few quick physical games—a much-needed boost to shake off the cold!
trekkers getting ready
Once warmed up, our guides gave us a crucial briefing on trekking techniques:
  • How to tie our shoes properly for better grip on the snow.
  • How to wear and adjust our backpacks to avoid back strain.
  • The right way to use trekking poles for stability.
  • How to wear and walk with microspikes to prevent slipping.

Listening carefully, we geared up, adjusted our layers, secured our microspikes—and finally, we were ready for our first big day of trekking!

After our warm-up session, just as we were about to leave for the trek, I stood still for a moment, breathing in the crisp mountain air, taking in the grandeur of the snow-covered peaks. Suddenly, I felt a tiny nudge against my leg. Looking down, I saw the cutest little mountain puppy staring up at me with innocent eyes and a tiny wagging tail.

My heart instantly melted! I couldn’t help but smile—this trek was already winning my heart, and I hadn’t even taken the first step yet.

Into the Snowy Pine Forest – A Dreamlike Start

The moment we stepped onto the trail, we were walking in a winter wonderland. Thick layers of snow covered the entire landscape, and every step crunched beneath our feet. The dense pine forests surrounded us, their branches heavy with fresh snow. It felt surreal.

And the best part? Mt. Dronagiri—our constant companion and guardian—stood tall in the background, as if watching over us. I took a deep breath of the cold, crisp mountain air. This was the kind of start I had only dreamt of.

A Magical Break – Stories of Mt. Dronagiri

After trekking for a while, we stopped at a scenic breakpoint to catch our breath and refuel. Out came our trail snacks—dry fruits, energy bars, and warm tea.

As we sat on a snowy patch, our guide shared an ancient tale about Mt. Dronagiri:

According to the Ramayana, Hanuman once came to this very mountain in search of the Sanjeevani herb to save Lakshman’s life. But unable to identify the herb, he lifted the entire mountain and carried it to Lanka. The locals believe that the missing portion of the peak is still visible today.

Hearing this mythological story while staring at the mighty Dronagiri sent chills down my spine—not just from the cold, but from the sheer magic of being here.

Onward Through the Snow – Moments to Remember

Refreshed from the break, we picked up our trekking poles and continued our journey. The snow-covered trail stretched ahead, winding through dense forests and open meadows, each turn revealing an even more breathtaking view than the last. The sunlight played hide and seek with the tall pine trees, casting golden hues on the sparkling snow.

The trail had both steep ascents and gradual climbs, making every step an adventure. Breathing was heavy, legs were working hard, but the beauty of the surroundings kept us going. Every few minutes, we would stop—not out of exhaustion, but to simply soak in the untouched beauty of the Himalayas.

Arrival at Akhrotgetta – A Campsite Like No Other

After hours of trekking, we finally arrived at Akhrotgetta, our first campsite. The name intrigued me, and our guide explained, “This place has only one walnut tree (Akhrot), so it was named Akhrotgetta.”

And wow—what a place to camp! The entire ground was blanketed in soft white snow, with majestic mountains surrounding us. I stood there for a moment, completely in awe.

As soon as we reached, we were greeted with warm welcome drinks, and I swear, that first sip of hot tea in the cold felt like pure magic. We sat down in the sun, letting its warmth balance out the chill, while having our packed lunch right in the middle of the snow.

Exploring the Campsite – Snowy Bliss

After lunch, we took a tour of the campsite with our trek leader. Indiahikes is known for its eco-friendly treks, so we learned about their sustainable water contraptions to minimize wastage and their bio-toilets to keep the mountains clean. It was inspiring to see how much effort goes into preserving nature while letting us experience it.

With time to spare before sunset, I wandered around the site, exploring the snowy landscape. Some trekkers were playing in the snow, others were capturing the stunning views of Mt. Dronagiri from different angles. I decided to just sit in silence for a while, letting the mountains sink into my soul.

Evening Fun – Angethi, Games & Shared Stories

As the temperature dropped, everyone gathered in the dining area. The team had set up an Angethi (traditional coal heater)—our only source of warmth in the freezing evening. We huddled around it, wrapping our cold hands around steaming cups of tea and sharing stories.

Soon, games started! We played a mix of fun icebreaker games, word games, and interactive activities led by our trek leader. Laughter echoed across the mountains, making us forget the biting cold.

As we wrapped up the night, I looked up—and there it was, a sky full of stars. The Milky Way stretched across the heavens, twinkling like diamonds on a black canvas. It was one of the clearest, most surreal skies I had ever seen.

Snuggling into my sleeping bag, I smiled to myself—this was just the beginning of an unforgettable adventure.

A New Day, A New Challenge!

After a good night’s sleep tucked inside my warm yet snug sleeping bag, I woke up early to the crisp, fresh mountain air. The first thing I did? Peeked out of my tent—and wow, what a morning view! The sky was painted in hues of pink and orange, casting a soft golden glow over the snow-covered peaks. A sight like this is something you never get tired of!
The breathtaking morning view from my tent

The DIY Trekking Experience – My Role as the Navigator!

This was going to be an exciting and unique day because today was a DIY trek day! Yes, you read that right—a self-navigated trekking day. We had our trek leader, two experienced guides, and me as the navigator. My job? To lead my fellow trekkers safely to our next campsite using the GAIA App! It was an adventure within an adventure, and I was thrilled to take on the challenge.

Ascending Towards Khullara Campsite – A Trek Filled with Bonding & Learning!

After a good warm-up session, we geared up and started our gradual ascend towards our next destination—Khullara Campsite. I walked ahead, leading the way, carefully checking the GAIA App to ensure we stayed on track. It felt empowering to be at the front, guiding the team, but what made it even more special was the bonding experience.

Trekking Rule of the Day?

We had to keep talking to the trekker next to us, get to know them better, and build a connection. It was such a beautiful way to make sure no one felt left out, and by the end of the journey, we had formed a strong team spirit.

Survival Training – Lighting a Fire in the Wild!

Midway through our trek, our guides gave us an exciting challenge—light a fire for survival! We were provided with a special tool that could spark a flame. Easier said than done!

We all tried different techniques—some gathered dry leaves, some stacked twigs carefully, while others attempted to spark the flame. It took us multiple attempts, but finally, with teamwork and the guide’s help, we succeeded!

Snow Fight Madness!

Right after a steep climb, we reached an open snow-covered stretch, and you already know what happened next—a full-blown snow fight!

Laughter filled the air as we threw snowballs at each other, dodging and chasing like kids. My hands were freezing, my cheeks were numb, but the joy? Absolutely priceless!

Tree Hugging – A Heartfelt Moment in Nature

Next came one of my favorite moments of the trek—Tree Hugging!

We were asked to find a large, old tree, hug it, and share our emotions with it. At first, it felt a little silly, but the moment I wrapped my arms around this majestic, ancient tree, something inside me softened. I whispered my thoughts, felt an unexplainable connection, and named it “My Mountain Guardian.”

Final Ascent to Khullara Campsite & The Stunning Himalayan Peaks!

Continuing our ascent, we came across a small, beautiful Ganesha temple nestled quietly among the mountains. It felt peaceful, almost magical, as if Lord Ganesha himself was watching over our journey. Standing at this point, we were rewarded with a breathtaking view of multiple majestic Himalayan peaks—
  • Mt. Dronagiri (7,066 m) towering to our left, its icy slopes glowing in the sunlight.
  • Hathi-Ghoda Peaks, resembling an elephant and a horse standing side by side, looked surreal.
  • Kamet, Neelkanth, and other distant peaks started revealing themselves, peeking through the clouds.
It was a moment of awe, the kind that makes you pause, take a deep breath, and just soak in the beauty of nature. This was the Himalayas in all its glory!

Arriving at Khullara Campsite – The Coldest Night Awaits!

After hours of trekking, we finally reached our destination—Khullara Campsite, sitting at an altitude of 11,014 ft. This was the coldest campsite of the entire trek, and the chilling wind made sure we felt it the moment we arrived!

We roamed around, exploring the stunning white landscape. The views were unreal—snow-covered slopes, towering peaks, and the vast open sky stretching endlessly above us. It was pure mountain bliss!
Welcome to the icy wonderland of Khullara

Evening at Khullara – The Magic of an Alpine Glow!

As the evening set in, the sky put on a show. The golden rays of the setting sun hit the peaks, and suddenly, they started glowing in a stunning shade of orange-pink! This phenomenon, known as the “Alpine Glow,” is something I had always wanted to witness, and here I was—watching it unfold before my eyes.

The mountains looked like they were on fire! It was breathtaking, unreal, and utterly magical.

A Cozy Evening – Bonding Over Snacks & Stories!

As the night deepened, the temperatures dropped even further. Our best friend? The dining tent!

Gathered inside, we huddled around a small angithi (coal heater), warming our frozen fingers while enjoying steaming hot evening snacks.

We played games, shared stories of past treks and adventures, and had some hilarious moments that made our stomachs hurt from laughing. Even though we were in the middle of freezing mountains, our hearts were warm, thanks to the beautiful company of fellow trekkers.

The Final Briefing – Preparing for the Summit Push!

During dinner, our trek leader gathered us all for an important briefing.

Tomorrow was our big day—the summit push!

We planned everything in detail:
  • What time to leave? Super early, before sunrise!
  • How to layer up? Because it was going to be freezing.
  • What to expect? A steep climb, breathtaking views, and an unforgettable journey.
Even though the weather forecast was uncertain, our spirits were high. The excitement of reaching the summit kept us going!

With hearts full of anticipation, we crawled into our sleeping bags, mentally preparing for the most awaited day of the trek.

Tomorrow—Kuari Pass Summit, here we come!

A Morning of Magic – My First Ever Snowfall!

I woke up feeling something different in the air. It was unusually silent, the kind of silence that only fresh snow brings. As I unzipped my tent and peeked outside, I was met with a sight I had been dreaming of—snowflakes gently falling from the sky!

The moment I stepped outside, I stretched out my hand, and the soft, delicate flakes landed on my palm, melting instantly. I stood there, mesmerized, letting the snow kiss my face, feeling the cold yet oddly comforting touch of winter. This was it—my first ever snowfall! And it was happening on this trek, in my birthday month!
Me, soaking in the magic of my first snowfall

A Snow-Covered Wonderland – Campsite Disappears Under White Layers!

As we packed our bags, the snowfall turned heavier. Within minutes, our entire campsite transformed into a winter wonderland.
  • Tents? Almost invisible under thick layers of snow!
  • Pathways? Disappeared into a white abyss!
  • The surrounding forest? Now a frozen fairytale!
We were waiting for the weather to clear, but the mountains had other plans. The snowfall wasn’t stopping, and the visibility had dropped drastically. We couldn’t see beyond a few meters! After a long wait and multiple discussions with our trek leader, we had to make a tough call—cancel the summit push.

The disappointment was real, but the mountains always teach you one thing—acceptance. Sometimes, nature says “Not today,” and you just have to respect that.

Even though we couldn’t reach the summit, we had already won. The journey, the snowfall, the beauty, and the experience—it was all priceless.

Descending Through a Snowy Paradise – The Journey to Guling Campsite!

Slowly and carefully, we started our descent. Dressed in ponchos, gaiters, and microspikes, gripping our trekking poles tightly, we bid farewell to our snow-covered campsite and headed toward Guling.

This trail was breathtakingly beautiful! Unlike the tough ascents, descending was smooth and relaxing. The best part? It kept snowing! Half of the journey, we walked through a soft, dreamy snowfall—a scene straight out of a movie.

Tall pine and oak trees stood majestically, their branches completely covered in snow, making them look straight out of a Christmas postcard.

As we moved further, we came across a frozen waterfall, a stunning contrast of ice-blue water trapped between rocky cliffs. Carefully, we made our way across, balancing ourselves over the icy, uneven terrain.

A Mini Rescue Mission – A Lost Phone in the Snow!

Amidst all the beauty and fun, one of the trekkers lost his phone! A sudden panic spread through the group. While a few trekkers went back up the trail searching for it, the rest of us waited, enjoying the snowfall, chatting, and capturing the surreal landscape.

Luckily, the phone was found buried in the snow, and we continued our journey, taking in every bit of the incredible experience.

Reaching Guling Campsite – A Snowy Hideaway!

Finally, we reached Guling Campsite, a picture-perfect campsite nestled in the snowy landscape.

  • Tents looked like igloos, sitting cozily on the snow-covered ground.
  • Surrounding trees sparkled, reflecting the golden afternoon sun.
  • The whole atmosphere felt serene, untouched, and peaceful.
We sat down to enjoy a well-earned hot lunch while soaking in the stunning views.
First glimpse of our snowy Guling campsite

An Afternoon of Exploration – Nature’s Hidden Gems!

Unlike other days, the afternoon was free for exploration. And me being me—of course, I went out to discover more!

To my surprise, this campsite had so much to offer!

I found walnut trees and hazelnut trees, hidden treasures of the forest!

I spotted some of the most beautiful birds—

  • Woodpecker knocking on a tree, creating rhythmic beats!
  • Eurasian Wren, small but full of energy, hopping around the snow.
  • Chestnut-Crowned Laughingthrush, a bird with a song as unique as its name.
  • Mistle Thrush, Osprey, and many more!
I used the Merlin Bird ID App, which helped me identify the birds just by recording their chirping. If you love birds, Chamoli is heaven!

Evening Delights – Pasta, Sunsets & Horror Stories!

As the day came to an end, we gathered around for evening snacks—and today, it was pasta!

Just when we thought the day couldn’t get better, the sun decided to give us another jaw-dropping sunset. The walnut trees framed the glowing peaks perfectly, creating a magical golden-hour scene.

As the night deepened, we huddled around the angithi, warming ourselves in the cold mountain air. What followed was a horror story session.

Imagine this—pitch darkness, flickering shadows, and spine-chilling tales! At one point, we felt as if someone—something—was watching us from the woods. Every creak, every sound made our hearts race. It was the scariest night we could have!

A Night Under the Stars – Moonrise & Stargazing!

Despite the horror vibes, we couldn’t miss stargazing.

Using SkyView Lite and Stellarium, we spotted:
  • Planets twinkling in the sky.
  • Constellations forming mesmerizing patterns.
  • And for the first time in my life, I saw a MOONRISE!
The moon was hiding behind Mt. Dronagiri, slowly rising bit by bit, illuminating the sky with a soft, silver glow. I waited for so long, and when it finally emerged, it was the most surreal moment.

Lying under the infinite Himalayan sky, I realized—this was more than just a trek. It was a journey of emotions, of dreams turning into reality, of nature teaching patience, acceptance, and joy in the unexpected.

The mountains may have denied us the summit, but they gave us something even more special—an experience we would cherish forever. The snowfall, the friendships, the raw beauty of nature, and the deep connection we formed with the land and ourselves.

As I closed my eyes inside my tent, wrapped in my sleeping bag, the moonlight shining through the fabric, I smiled. I had come looking for an adventure… and I found magic instead.

The journey was the real summit. And in my heart, I had already conquered it.
The starlit sky above our campsite, a night to remember!
That night, with the sound of the wind whispering through the trees and the mountains standing tall in silent watchfulness, I drifted off into the most peaceful sleep ever—grateful, fulfilled, and already dreaming of my next adventure.

The Final Descent—A Birthday to Remember in the Mountains

The sun slowly peeked from behind the snowy peaks, casting a golden glow over the icy wonderland we had been calling home for the past few days. It was the last day of the trek… but also, a very special one for me.

Waking Up to a Mountain Birthday

I had dreamt of this moment for so long—celebrating my birthday in the mountains, surrounded by nature and the people who shared this incredible journey with me. As I unzipped my tent and stepped out, feeling the crisp mountain air on my face, one by one, my fellow trekkers started wishing me. It was surreal—standing amidst the grand Himalayas, feeling nothing but gratitude and joy.

Before we left, we had a hearty breakfast—Chhole Puri! One of my favorites, and somehow, it tasted even better in the mountains. A warm meal before a long journey ahead.

With our backpacks strapped on, trail snacks packed, and hearts heavy with emotions, we said our final goodbye to our tents—our cozy little homes in the mountains.

A Group Photo Before the Descent

Before leaving, we huddled together for a final group picture. Looking at the faces of my fellow trekkers, I saw happiness, satisfaction, and an unspoken bond that only treks like these can create.

Postcard Activity—A Memory to Keep Forever

On our way down, we had a small yet meaningful activity—writing postcards. Each of us took a moment to express our feelings and experiences on a postcard, something we could take back as a memory. A note from our mountain hearts to our future selves.

The Beautiful Descent to Tugasi

As we continued our descent, the trail was a mix of beauty and challenge. The hard, slippery snow made it tricky, but the stunning views of the mountains, valleys, and remote villages made it all worth it.

On our way, we saw locals playing cricket. Without thinking twice, all of us stopped to watch them play. There was something so beautiful about this—mountains, cricket, and a carefree moment amidst the great outdoors.

Further down, the village life became more visible. The beautifully stacked houses, the terraced farms, and the colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. From above, the entire village looked like a postcard scene!

Arriving at Dhak—The Last Stop

After a long and beautiful descent, we finally reached Dhak. This campsite was different from the previous ones—it was connected to the road and surrounded by the life of a Himalayan village.

Before submitting our rentals and having lunch, I had some free time. And of course, I couldn’t just sit back—I decided to explore the village!

The Village Walk—A Journey Within

Three of my trek friends joined me on this little adventure. We walked through tiny trails weaving between houses, meeting the kindest pahadi people along the way.

At the very beginning, we met an elderly pahadi aunty. We asked her about places to visit, and she suggested a faraway Ram Mandir. The moment she mentioned it, we decided—we were going!

Before we left, she offered us fresh tangerines from her backyard. Her kindness, her warm smile—it was one of the most heartwarming moments of the trek.

As we walked through the village, we greeted people, exchanged smiles, and even got invited for tea by a few locals! Every house had apple and tangerine trees, and the people were so generous in offering us their fresh fruits.

Reaching the Ram Temple

After an exhilarating hike through the village, we finally reached the Ram Temple. A peaceful place, untouched by time, surrounded by nature’s silence.

And guess what? I met another furry friend there!

Back to the Campsite—A Night of Celebration

After returning to the Dhak campus, I went up to the terrace, just to take in one last view before the journey ended. The mountains, the trees, the fresh air—it was all sinking deep into my soul.

As the night set in, we gathered around the angethi one last time, sharing stories of our trek and our village exploration.

But the biggest surprise was yet to come!

The Indiahikes team arranged a birthday cake for me—a homemade, delicious, heartwarming surprise! The sweetest end to my mountain birthday.

Final Goodbyes & A Special Gift

One of my trekker friends and our trek leader gave me a gift—a simple yet priceless gesture that made my birthday even more special.

The Last Morning—Heading Back to Rishikesh

The next morning, we packed up and got ready to leave. One final goodbye to the mountains, our trek leader, our guides, and the place that had given us so much.
The Journey May End, But the Memories Last Forever

This trek was not just about climbing mountains. It was about finding joy in the unexpected, feeling the warmth of strangers, embracing the silence of the Himalayas, and creating friendships that felt like family.

The mountains gave me a gift far beyond any summit—a lifetime of memories, a heart full of gratitude, and a longing to return.

Have you done this trek?

Share your experience! And if not, add it to your bucket list—it’s an adventure you’ll never forget.
P.S. The route and trails for this trek have been altered this winter due to weather conditions and safety measures. If you’re planning this trek, make sure to check for updates before setting out.

Also, I hope I have consent to share the group pictures here. I’m still unsure whether to include names or just mention “friends.”
